Chattanoogan Labor Day

Last weekend, Nate and I loaded the boys in the good ol’ minivan and hauled them to Chattanooga to spend some time with Nate’s mom, stepdad, and brothers.  As always, the boys had an absolute blast because they had everyone’s undivided attention for 5 straight days.  Which means that I got an amazing, relaxing break for 5 straight days.  I slept in for 5 days in a row. 5 DAYS.  I still can’t get over it.  They totally let me put my feet up and relax while they wore my boys out with super fun playtimes.  To say that I have amazing in-laws is an understatement!

While we were there, Nate and I met with the Waldeckers, who just so happen to live in Chattanooga.   Nate’s mom sweetly agreed to babysit while Nate and I spent some time discussing our future in Costa Rica and learning more about the apprenticeship program that we’ll be doing while we’re living there.   It was a great opportunity to spend time with our new boss before we make the move to the field, and to get brutally beaten by him in a game of disc golf at Cloudland Canyon! We also worshiped with their family at St Elmo Pres on Sunday morning, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.  Hopefully we’ll get to visit that church often during our times in Chattanooga.

Here are a few pictures from our fun trip:

Mammaw bought a blow up pool and filled it with play balls...
...which Nate started stuffing into the boys clothes...
...which they thought was really funny...
...and walked around like that for awhile...
...just because they could.
We played at Imagination Station Park, and made Mammaw climb through the tunnels...
...and went down the slides a hundred times...
...and played on the swings...
...
...and made mammaw work some more...
...and checked out the trains...
...which Mammaw and Noah discovered were basically big metal ovens.
Back at their house we developed a new fascination with the stairs...
...as well as Uncle Nick's cool hat.

Except for Tropical Storm Lee rolling in at the end of the trip, we had a great time, and we can’t wait to get back up there for Thanksgiving!
