Tomorrow I’m observing at a lower socioeconomic public elementary school in the downtown-ish area of Jackson. The teacher is a friend of mine, and I talked to her on the phone for awhile tonight and she told me a little about her third-grade classroom. She has 19 students. 9 of them have been held back, 5 of them are special-ed, and 2 of them are gifted. All in one classroom. How exactly is that supposed to work?
I have no doubt that I’m going to have a great story for you tomorrow.
